We designed a concept for a new visitor centre, offices and headquarters adjacent to our clients' existing distillery operations.
Working closely with the client team, we took a landscaped approach to laying out the building design so that we could reflect the nature of the brand within the wider industrial site. We also aimed to provide new routes and access to the existing distillery operations as part of a wider tour offering.

Materials and finishes
Material choices were informed by the industrial nature of the site. Specific design elements like the copper cladding and charred timber were influenced by the working cooperage that the visitor centre is home to.

Outcome
Links, approach, aspect and orientation elevated the aspect of our final design concept proposal. This resulted in our team combining the industrial heritage with the Scottish landscape and brand heritage, with the purpose of attracting new visitors to the site and providing much needed local employment and development in the area.
